Having read the book Moments recently, I knew Keith A. Anderson had a serious challenge on his hands--could he generate as much interest in his sequel as he did for the first book? I am happy to report he definitely rose to the challenge! MOMENTS II, like its predecessor, is a series of short vignettes about love and romance. There is also beautiful, moving poetry to touch the heart.

Unlike the original Moments, which placed all of the poetry in the back of the book, in MOMENTS II, Anderson inserts poetry after some of the stories, then places a few poems in the back of the book. He also uses several of the characters introduced in Moments, in continuous stories showing whether or not they paid attention to the advice given to them by seasoned lovers. He also introduces a few new characters, and their stories are equally intriguing.

My favorite of the new character stories is "A Way Out," which shows what happens when a man yields to temptation, and how much trouble the yielding can produce. Of the previously introduced character stories, I enjoyed "Seasoned Love II," which showed a very interesting type of pastoral counseling.

All the characters in Anderson's book are well-described, and if you close your eyes, you can almost see them in your mind. They will remind you of people you see everyday. The stories are real and true to life, and the poetry is vivid and lyrical, ranging from beautiful tributes to the author's daughter in "My Little World," and his father in "Now I Understand," to a powerful self-analysis in "Only When I'm Angry."

Once again, Keith A. Anderson has created a book that is hard to put down once you start to read; a book that should be shared by lovers of all ages. Although it speaks primarily from the man's point of view, there are lessons in his stories that can benefit women as well.

I truly hope there is a Moments III on the horizon!
